Beef Stew With Gherkins |

Someone said, "This
is so DELICIOUS, you will never want to make "regular" beef
stew again!" I don't know about that but it is good. |

Ingredients
4 slices bacon, cut 1" length
3 pounds beef sew meat
salt and pepper
8 ounces mushrooms, quartered
1 large sliced onion
1 tablespoon paprika
˝ cup burgundy
1 can beef broth
1 jar gherkin, small jar, sweet, cut in half
hot cooked rice

Cooking Method
Fry bacon and remove.
Salt and
pepper stew meat and brown in bacon drippings.
Sauté
onion and mushrooms in drippings, adding 1 Tbsp. oil if necessary.
Combine all ingredients except gherkins, bacon and rice in Crockpot and
cook for 4 hours on high or 6 hrs. on low.

Stir in some flour
mixed with water to thicken juice if necessary.

Stir in pickles
and bacon.
Serve over hot rice. |
